The colored spheres that sprout through these 'still natures', sometimes supported by a petal, sometimes hovering around it, almost camouflaged, also appear inside these flowers, replacing their anthers and stigmas. This is what the painter calls “light chaos”. Since moving to Bordeaux, France, Duda Moraes reports having discovered in her practice a window to the warmth and abundant flora of her homeland. This kind of distance travel provides the artist with the comfort of a familiar space in the midst of a foreign environment.
