Erika Verzutti - A indisciplina da escultura [The indiscipline of sculpture]

Curadoria de André Mesquita, Adriano Pedrosa

exhibition_ 02/07/2021 til 31/10/2021

“Rather than giving definitive answers about the effects of those Brazilian histories, Verzutti’s work brings unusual associations of references from our daily lives and culture in general. Her sculptures dialogue with works by artists such as Tarsila do Amaral and include the forms of elements found in nature (such as vegetables and fruit)—so elementary to the Brazilian context. In more recent oeuvres, especially her wall reliefs, Verzutti works’ titles poetically draw attention to social and political conditions experienced by the country”, adds the curator.
