The most extensive retrospective of the Italian-Brazilian artist Anna Maria Maiolino, the first to be held at a public institution in Italy. Drawing inspiration from the everyday female consciousness and an oppressive, censorial dictatorship – as experienced in 1970s and 1980s Brazil – Maiolino has produced works steeped in vital force, which combine Italian creativity with the experimentations of Brazilian avant-gardes in an unmistakable and inimitable style.
